SNP COUNCILLOR BOYCOTTS SCHOOL OPENNING

Denny SNP Councillor, John McNally, has described as a “total insult” the decision to allow current Education Convenor, Alex Waddell, to perform the official opening of the new Denny High School.

Waddell, the so called Independent Councillor for Denny lead the campaign to deny the children of Denny a new school while chair of Denny Community Council. At the end of the day Waddell failed miserably with only 2 Denny residents objecting to the application when it reached the Planning stage.

Now three years on Waddell selected himself to perform the official opening where he waxed lyrically about the quality of the building.

SNP Councillor, John McNally wrote to Falkirk Provost, Pat Reid, to complain at the decision and received a weak reply in return. Said John McNally,

“The hypocrisy of Alex Waddell was to much to take and so I felt I could not attend the official opening.

I did my bit by supporting the SNP Administration’s proposals for a new high school while Waddell, Billy Buchanan and the local Labour party campaigned against them.

There is only one person who should have been considered for the opening and that was the man who delivered the school against the concerted campaign to deny the children of Denny these facilities and that is Tom Coleman.

Compared to Tom Coleman the current incumbent of the education port folio is nothing but a political pygmy, but he is not alone on that side of the chambers..

Very soon the schools, libraries and other community facilities developed by the previous SNP led Administration will be open and then there will be nothing for the current failed Administration to claim the credit for/” .

Once again the Falkirk Herald were aware of the disquiet felt at Waddell’s hypocrisy but chose not to print the story, no doubt believing it would remind the electorate that unlike New labour the SNP deliver.
