Keep on winning
The
SNP's electoral successes at council by-elections continued
with a sensational victory in the Woodside East Ward of
Fife Council. A swing of over 30% from Labour to the SNP
saw a Labour majority of 529 be overturned and an SNP majority
of 504 set in it's place.
This
was the SNP's 10th success in 20 council by-elections that
have taken place in the last year or so and demonstrates
that the national opinion poll lead for the SNP is no fluke.
Commenting
on the latest result Michael Matheson MSP said,
"From
Glasgow to Fife, Denny to the Borders the SNP are winning
seats from our opponents with massive swings to the party.
This
is a trend that we will be working flat out to continue
as we approach the twin parliamentary and council elections
next year."
