Further
£8 million invested in Boness
Falkirk
Council's SNP led Administration has approved an £8m
investment in the flood defence mechanism of Bo'ness.
The
long neglected town of Bo'ness has received a further boost
with the approval of an £8m investment in the town's
crumbling and ineffective flood prevention defences. Work
will commence in 2007 and follows on from significant investment
made over the last four years led by the SNP.
Already
a £150m regeneration programme has been approved including
a £5m heritage initiative within the town.
Speaking
on the latest announcement Depute Leader of Falkirk Council,
John Constable said.
"For
30 years Bo'ness faced neglect and decline under Labour
Administrations in both Falkirk and Stirling. Every suggestion
for the improvement of the town were rejected by the countless
Labour leaders who presided on this decline.
However,
its all change since the SNP came to power. A can do attitude
has been adopted and we have demonstrated ambition and leadership
in bringing massive investment in the town from both the
public and private sectors.
We
will continue to take Bo'ness forward and the additional
£8m investment protects that already made thus ensuring
a bright future for the people of Bo'ness."
