Joint
venture launched in Stenhousemuir

SNP
Councillor, Lynda Kenna cut the ribbon that launched the
latest SNP initiative in sports development.
Falkirk
Council and Stenhousemuir Football Club are the parties
involved that will see the football club's Ochilview Stadium
become the focus of the local community.
The
new £350,000 state of the art pitch will be available
to the community to hire and adds another attraction to
local sports fans. Falkirk Council provided £250,000
of the cost of installation in what is the first such partnership
in the UK. Stenhousemuir will open their doors to the community
and provide youth coaching for the local youth groups.
Speaking
at the opening Cllr Kenna said,
"Since
the SNP came to office in Falkirk Council we have shown
that we can and will thing outwith the box. Partnerships
such as that with Stenhousemuir are the way forward and
in Falkirk we have two first class partnerships that are
providing excellent facilities to the wider community which
is so important these days.
Full
marks also have to go to Stenhousemuir Football Club who
are demonstrating, once again, that they are a genuine community
based and community orientated football club and that they
have the interests of the people of Larbert and Stenhousemuir
at heart, They deserve nothing but credit for this because
its all to easy to claim to be a community club but in the
case of the Warriors this is wholly justified.
Add
this to the Stenhousemuir Town Centre regeneration and we
can see that it is the SNP that is taking this community
forward. "
